Jeanne Range's husband, Dave Bishop, said he was digging a line for a drain pipe when he noticed some strange bones in the soil.
James Chatters, a CWU professor and acclaimed anthropologist, put the bones together and identified the animal as a sloth.

A new ambulance will rescue the Quincy Valley Volunteer Ambulance's program. A demonstration model will be purchased by Quincy Valley Hospital after a vote by the QVH board.

"King of Mtn. View" was the title bestowed upon Jerry King, retiring principal, at a special program. The crown, it might be noted, sat rather unsteadily upon the head of the monarch.

The 132-foot high George water tower is nearing completion this week after some 2,000 man hours of labor. There were seven men on the job for five weeks to construct the tank with a capacity of 150,000 gallons of water.

Mary Lou Webley won a thoroughbred registered racehorse at Wes Robbins' Golden Horse Ranch races last Sunday. Her name was drawn from over 500 guests attending the races.
