Senior News: July 29

We have ordered new carpet for the Senior Center, thanks to a grant from the Paul Lauzier Foundation. We are grateful that they worked with us to make this great change in the dining room.

Coming events: Dr Shelly will be at the Senior Center on Aug. 5 at 3 p.m. to discuss arthritis and how it affects us. Protecting Seniors (A Community Comes Together) will be held Sept. 17, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Wenatchee Convention Center.

The Pasco Senior Center is hosting an All Senior Picnic on Sept. 23 at TRAC in Pasco, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $5 per person. If you would like further information about any of these upcoming events, please feel free to call us at the Center at 787-3231.

We would like to begin the fourth Sunday of the month (1 p.m.) potluck get-togethers. If you would be interested, please call us.

Friends and family of senior citizens be on the alert; look out for your elder loved ones. Hot weather brings its own risks, including heat stroke.

Rita Keene sent us a nice note thanking the volunteers for donating their time and energy and the community for donating their blood. We at the Center wish to thank the community at large for donating. Thank you to the Community Center for allowing us to use their building.

We had an anonymous donation of a new refrigerator/freezer. THANK YOU!! Thanks to the volunteers who helped unload and set up the refrigerator.

Lunch for Rotary at noon and seniors and community at 6 p.m.: chicken-fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, buttered peas, pears, coleslaw, rolls and blueberry crisp for dessert at the QUINCY SENIOR CENTER
