CB United tryouts

The 2010-11 season is soon arriving and the CB United FC soccer club is hosting their annual tryouts for U11 and older boys and girls soccer players. There will be seven age/gender tryouts available in Moses Lake’s Lion’s Field and the Ephrata Soccer Complex.

The tryouts are May 7-9.

Boys U11- May 7 from 6-7:30 p.m.; Girls U11/U12 and Boys U12 - May 8 from 11:30-1:30 p.m ; Girls U13/U14 - May 8 from 2-3:30 p.m.; Boys U13 - May 7 6-7:30 p.m.; Girls/Boys U14/U15 - May 8 from 4-5:30 p.m.; Girls/Boys U16/U17/U18 - May 8 from 6-7:30 p.m.

Moses Lake site

River Dog Pups car wash

The Columbia Basin River Dog Pups are putting on a car wash May 8 at the Quincy Community Center to help support their 2010 spring and summer season. The team is made up of eight Ephrata players and four Quincy players. Quincy will be represented by Porter Hodges, Brett Yeates, Brandon Esparza and Dallas Bassett. The River Dog Pups are in a league with East Wenatchee, Wenatchee, Cashmere and Leavenworth.

They will be coached by Chuck Hansen of the River Dogs and assisted by Dave Kosa and Bryan Bassett.

The car wash fund-raiser will be from 9-1 p.m. on May 8.

Colockum Ridge Women

The Colockum Ridge Women's Golf Division had their 2010 kick-off breakfast and golf outing. Low gross - F1: Jan Hagenston 91. F2: Wilma DeLeeuw 113. Low net - F1: Cathy Jones 81. F2: Marsha Niessen 80. O-N-E-S: Hagenston and DeLeeuw. Long drive: Hagenston and Vickie Brissey. Long putt: Jones 6-1.5. KP: Jones 56-4. Fewest putts: Hagenston 32. Chip-ins: Jean Lindberg #18, Niessen #14, Hagenston #14. Birdies: Jones #14, Hagenston #14.

Colockum Ridge Men

The Colockum Ridge Men’s Club was led by Rick Longwill’s net 65 on Tuesday. Gary Parmenter had a 65 and a three-way tie for third was shot by Darwin Baldridge, Chuck Thibert and Jim Patterson with 71s. In division two, John Nissen was first with a 66, followed by Dean Faley (68), Duane Swanson (70) and Ray Phillips (72). KP – #3: Thibert. #5: Bill Sund. #12: Nissen. #14: Baldridge.
