QV Lions set Golf Tourney
The Quincy Valley Lions Club is putting on their 10th Annual Golf Tournament June 19 at Colockum Ridge Golf Course. The 4-person scramble costs $50 per person, which includes lunch. There will be KP holes and a putting contest, with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
Carts are available on a first-come-first-serve for $10 per person. Contact Colockum Ridge at 787-6206. For entry forms, contact Anne Durfee at 398-0957 or stop by Central Bean.
Rock and ride returns
The Rock and Ride Through George returns for another year. The ride has four different courses, from 10 miles to 100 miles, and is open to all ages. The fee is $35 for ages 12 and older, $15 for ages 8 to 11 and free for ages 7 and under.
The 10-mile ride is flat, while the 30-mile adds rolling hills and an optional eight-mile trip down to the Columbia River. The 70-mile ride is the same as the 30-mile and adds a 40-mile flat course, while the 100-mile course is the same as the 70-mile, but the hill to the river is mandatory. There is also an After Ride Feed at the George Community Center beginning at 10:30 a.m.
