Dance X-treme summer camp

The Quincy High School’s Dance X-treme troupe is hosting a summer dance camp for all school ages. The camp will have three two-hour sessions for dance routines and rehearsals and one performance night. The routine days will be June 18 and July 9 from 9 to 11 a.m., while the rehearsal day is July 16 from 9 to 11 a.m. The performance day will be July 22 at 7 p.m.

The cost is $10 per participant. For questions contact, Dance X-treme director Tina Castro at 398-5893.

QHS soccer award finalists

The Quincy High School boys soccer team and coach Tom Turner were named finalists for the 40th NCW Sports Awards. The banquet will be June 29 at the Wenatchee Convention Center.

The soccer team made the state tournament after a 17-2 campaign, but were eliminated by state runner-up Cheney in the first round. For their efforts, the squad made the top-11 out of 57 nominations. Turner was one of 44 nominees for the Male Team Coach and is one of 10 finalists. Turner guided the Jacks to a 17-2 season and has 143 wins in his 11 years as a head coach.

Pioneer Elementary’s top runners

The 2009-10 Run and Walk for Fun second- and third-grade miles have been tabulated and released to the public. The top runner of the year went to Conner Donovan with 100.6 miles.
