Back to the old West
The Single Action Shooting Society took over the American Legion Gun Club over the weekend.
There were 53 cowboy shooters plinking targets starting last Thursday and running through Sunday. On Friday afternoon, a group of shooters participated in the Wild Bunch shoot, which is aptly named after the movie.
During the matches shooters are required to wear period costumes and compete under their shooting aliases. On the right, Pinto Annie loads her pistol. Each event uses a pistol, rifle and shotgun and the shooters hit their targets for speed and accuracy.
“They look like the old fashioned cowboys, like they came off the farm,” said Wiley Bob of Wenatchee. “Those who shoot straight and fast win You have to do both. That’s the trick.”
The local SASS club is the Beasley Gulch Rangers.
