Bethany Rose Lopez

Bethany Rose Lopez was granted her Angel wings on March 14, 2015. Although she was taken far too soon, those who knew her understand the way she selflessly gave of herself and left a lasting impression. She gave us all courage and hope and a reminder of the preciousness of life. Her final day on Earth was spent surrounded by her children, whom she loved more than anything.

Bethany was born in Quincy on Jan. 30, 1986. Beth grew up in Quincy and graduated from Quincy High School in June 2004. She had a heart and compassion for animals that led her to treat them as if they were her own children, prior to having her own kids. She was an amazing rider, and earned the honor of achieving to become a Washington State Barrel Racing champion. She then attended Washington State University.

Bethany met Salvador Lopez at Quincy Junior High and they became high school sweethearts. The two became inseparable, and were “like two peas in a pod” for most of their lives. They were married on March 28, 2006. Bethany was an amazing wife who stood by her husband’s side through two deployments.

She was a manager at Harry Ritchie’s Jewelers in Wenatchee for some time, before her children were born, when she decided to devote her life to being a full-time mom for her two children, Bella and Jax Lopez. Bethany enjoyed reading, especially the Twilight series books, and she had the opportunity to go on a trip with her family to Forks, which she joyfully experienced. She passed on her love of reading to her children, reading them stories every night before bed. She had a passion for the outdoors, and enjoyed going on motorcycle rides with her father and husband and camping with her family.

Bethany was the kind of woman who blessed everyone she encountered in ways both great and small. She had an infectious smile and positive outlook on life that always made even the darkest days seem brighter in her presence. Raising and loving her family was the success story of her life, and what Bethany put above anything else.

Bethany was preceded in death by her loving mother, Rebecca Motzkus. She is survived by her beloved husband, Salvador Lopez, and their two children: daughter, Bella Rose Lopez, and son, Jax Xavier Lopez. She is further survived by her father Jim Motzkus, grandmother Phyliss, and brothers, Jason,Ryan, Josh, and Jake Motzkus, and also her sisters Vikki Lopez, Melisa Lovely and Pearl Lopez. And many much-loved nieces and nephews, in-laws, and friends.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2015, at Calvary Crossroads Church, 1301 Maple St. in Wenatchee.
