Calloway named chairman of WSPC
MOSES LAKE – The Washington State Potato Commission recently elected Rex Calloway of Quincy as its chairman for the current fiscal year. Calloway’s term began July 1.
Calloway, whose family farm is located near Quincy, will follow Mike Dodds, who has chaired the commission since last July.
The potato commission is governed by 15 commissioners, including nine elected by potato growers. Calloway will serve a one-year term as chairman.
“The commissioners and staff will continue to take a proactive role on key issues that impact our industry, and I’m excited to continue building upon all of the great work that has been done by everyone who has served in the past,” he said in a press release from the association.
Calloway added, “We want to do what we can as a commission to continue to serve the industry and help the growers throughout the state focus on producing and marketing their crops.”
