Utility Worker
SALARY RANGE: $3,278.35 to $3,919.26 per month, depending upon qualifications and experience.
NATURE OF WORK: This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of public works maintenance duties ranging from labor activities requiring physical exertion to tasks requiring some manipulative skills. This position may require skills to be performed in the maintenance and repair of streets, water and sewer systems, refuse collection and by the safe and proficient operation of backhoe, grader, dump truck, street sweeper, sewer rodder, flusher, paint striper and other heavy and specialized equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS: It is desirable that the successful candidate for this position have a high school education or equivalent and three years prior experience in this type of work. This position requires a Class B Washington State Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Experience in utility construction and equipment operation is desirable.
This position shall be filled by appointment of the mayor and will involve a six month probationary period, during which time the employee may be dismissed for any reason at the sole discretion of the City of Quincy.
The successful candidate must become a member of Local Union 760. Remaining a member in good standing is a condition of continued employment.
