Hospital officials on Tuesday will ask city council for $1.5 million loan
Hospital officials are off to the Quincy City Council on Tuesday to ask for a $1.5 million loan.
The loan would be used to pay down the $3.4 million operating loan the hospital now has with Grant County.
Hospital CEO Medhi Merred has said the city loan, if approved, would be paid off in five years.
Anthony Gonzalez, chairman of the hospital’s board of commissioners, asked staff at a hospital meeting on Monday to bring their families to the Dec. 2 council meeting to show support for the hospital.
“I hope and pray the city council will help their public hospital,” he said.
The city council meeting begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
