It’s graduation week!

Graduation ceremonies are this week in the Quincy School District.
Commencement cermonies for High Tech High’s graduates are at 6 p.m. on June 7 at the Performing Arts Center at Quincy High School.
About 13 students will be graduating from High Tech High. Speaking this year to the graduates is Quincy businessman and former city councilman Jose Saldaña. ASB president and graduate Claudia Gamboa also will be speaking.
About 198 students are in the Class of 2016 at QHS. QHS seniors are graduating at 7 p.m. on June 10 at Jaycee Stadium.
The motto at this year’s ceremony is from a quote from the late Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple Inc.: “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.”
Speaking at the QHS ceremony will be graduates Erin Nieuwenhuis, Heidi Bishop and Margarita Buenrostro.
Attendees are reminded that balloons are not allowed in the stadium.
