Letter to the editor: Lybbert made impression

I attended the mayoral candidate forum earlier this month and was impressed by what I saw and heard from Scott Lybbert.
His style of public speaking was animated and articulate; his body language communicated enthusiasm and an eagerness to interact with the public; his responses to the panelists’ questions were detailed, making full use of the time allotted; he was alert and professional in his manner; he was respectful in his interaction with Mr. Worley; having lived and worked outside of Grant County enables him to bring perspective to his work as mayor; his eagerness to be elected mayor of Quincy was visibly evident and his knowledge of the issues, challenges and opportunities facing the city of Quincy was broad and insightful.
Both candidates deserve our thanks for running for the office of mayor and for their commitment, if elected, to provide leadership in a very important part of American life, local government.
Based on what I saw and heard at the candidates forum, Mr. Scott Lybbert will get my vote for mayor of the city of Quincy.
Ron Moen,
