Letter to Editor: Thank you from the George Nutter family

Wow! What an awesome community we live in. A simple “thank you” doesn’t seem enough to express our sincere thanks and appreciation for the outpouring of love, respect and support we’ve received during George’s illness and recent passing. Phone calls, home visits, comments in passing, gifts of food, flowers, cards, memorial donations and the turnout at his memorial service are a testament to how many lives have been touched by George and his family.

A special thank you to the Quincy Police Department and the Washington State Patrol for making accommodations for uniformed officers and cars to be in attendance at the service. A special thank you to Pastor Ann Frerks, Jenn Gardner and Debbie for their tender care. Thank you to George’s coffee buddy Paul, who for an hour each day could solve many a world problem. Thank you to our Tuesday and Friday night group, who enriched George’s life with stories, humor and love. Thank you to the life-long friends made through George’s many walks of life that have remained a special part of him and to awesome sisters, aunts and families. And a special thank you to the angels (you know who you are) God put on this earth to love and care for us during this difficult time.

George would be proud that the memorial service turned out just as he had planned, complete with a well-done reception at the Moose. Cheers George! We thank and respect George for proudly and selflessly serving his country, law enforcement agencies around the state and the Quincy community.  His wit and wisdom will be missed by many, but George left a great legacy to his kids, grandkids and a community that he was very much a part of and felt important for him to give back to.

God bless Quincy and God bless America,

The Family of George Nutter
