Letter to the Editor: Thank you for being our customers
Dear friends and customers of The Grainery,
Did you know that we just celebrated our five-year anniversary this month? It was our desire to provide a place where customers would feel as though they stepped into our home, to make this a true “gathering place” for Quincy. We are so grateful to all who frequent our establishment. We want to say a big thank you to all of you, as well as our many employees who do their best to prepare and present real, wholesome food and beverages.
After a health issue last summer, Harriet has found it harder and harder to carry on the day-to-day responsibilities in operating a food establishment. So we have made the difficult decision to retire from this endeavor. And, wouldn’t you know, just when we knew this decision had to be made, one of our employees came forward wanting to take over, with the same heart for serving you that we have had.
So we are confident that this special place will be able to continue under the leadership of Gena and Rick Westra and our wonderful crew of employees. Gena has been on staff here for several years, and knows how to take care of our customers. Harriet will still be involved in the upcoming catering events that we have committed to, and will be a frequent customer as well.
We thank you again for being such wonderful customers and friends. Quincy is still our home and heritage, and we will continue supporting the things that make this community a great place. Please stop by on our last day, March 31. David and I will be there to greet you and say thank you. Please know it has been a blessing for us to serve each and every one of you.
David and Harriet Weber, Quincy
