LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Setting the record straight
May 29, 2008 - Last week, due to a third-party phone call, my husband was gotten out of bed. He was arrested for domestic violence.
Thanks from Parsons
May 15, 2008 - I wish to say thanks to my friends and supporters from the Quincy Valley who organized and attended a recognition night of 15 years of successful Gorge operations.
Watch for cyclists on roadways
May 08, 2008 - As the weather starts to get nice, people who own motorcycles and bicycles will be hitting the roads. Both forms of transportation are, in their own right, fun, but with them come a certain level of danger.
Food bank needs donations
May 08, 2008 - The Quincy Food Bank is short of food. Stores, farmers and people have all been very generous, but now we need more food including fresh fruits and vegetables. The Post Office is having their food drive on Saturday, also a high school senior project is being worked on. Please support them both.
Missing tax statements
May 08, 2008 - "Mystery of the Month!" What happened to a portion of the Quincy residents' property tax statements?
Meeting neighbors at 30,000 feet
May 08, 2008 - Whenever I commute to and from my airline job in Chicago, I'm flying standby, so I never know what kind of seat I'll end up in.
Report those abusing property
April 24, 2008 - About two weeks ago, there were a group of men with trucks and a trailer picking up all the trash that had been dumped along the roadside on the hill north of Quincy. These men should be commended, and I would like to personally thank these men, whoever they are.
Support for school levy
April 17, 2008 - I wish to encourage each of you to support the upcoming levy for the Quincy School District scheduled for Feb.
Beautification steps out
April 17, 2008 - Quincy Beautification is leaving the umbrella of the Quincy Valley Chamber of Commerce. We will continue to function, but as a separate entity. Our beautification areas will remain the highway corridors entering and exiting Quincy. We have not for many years, and will not in the future, be responsible for the downtown bump-outs.
