Soccer loses to East Valley-Yakima

The Quincy Jacks’ soccer team showed flashes of what it could do in the future during a loss to East Valley-Yakima.
The Red Devils scored eight times in the first half, burying a promising start for the Jacks. In the second half, the Jacks played much better and only yielded one goal, for a final 9-1 tally. Brianna Pendragon had the Jacks’ goal on a free kick.
“Just dropped it right into the corner,” Quincy coach Erik Nelson said. “Beautiful shot.”
Nelson added, “I think the biggest thing moving forward is learning how to put that all together in a complete game,” said Nelson, who said the team is playing better and tougher than the scores would indicate.
Next up for the team is a match at Othello (3-4), a contest Nelson said the team was waiting for.
“We are going to put our best foot forward and really try to win the game,” he said.
