Suspect arrested in Quincy robbery
The Quincy Police Department has an arrest in a robbery that occurred earlier this year in Quincy’s East Park.
The Quincy police announced Friday, March 10, the arrest of Salvador Solorzano Torres at 8:45 p.m. on March 9.
Solorzano Torres, age 19, was booked on two warrants, one related to DUI, and the other related to third-degree driving while license suspended. He was also booked on two counts of robbery in the first degree, one count of assault in the first degree, one count of theft in the second degree, and one count of malicious mischief in the second degree.
As of Tuesday evening, Solorzano Torres was listed as held in the Grant County Jail.
Quincy police said the arrest resulted from a lengthy investigation into an incident on Jan. 29, 2017, in which cash and personal items were taken. Police believe the two victims of the robbery came to Quincy to buy illegal drugs from Torres, and that he and two accomplices robbed the two victims. Police also stated that Torres had a handgun and one of the accomplices was armed with a rifle.
