Volleyball drops finale to Ephrata
The season came to an end last Thursday for the Lady Jacks volleyball team.
Quincy (2-7, 4-10) faced host Ephrata (3-6, 3-11) in the Battle of the Basin on the courts. Both teams entered the contest eliminated from playoff contention. So bragging rights were on the table. Earlier in the season, the Lady Jacks beat Ephrata in five sets.
This time around Ephrata swept the match winning 24-15, 25-9, 25-19.
The catalyst was the serving of senior Demi Beavers (nine aces, six kils) and juniors Teighan Moore (four aces, four kills) and Madi Youngers (four aces, four kills, three blocks). The Lady Jacks had no answer for the serving of Ephrata.
Quincy was led by Sam Kleyn, who had seven digs, seven assists, and two kills and senior Irma Medina with two blocks. Others: Alex Bassett three kills, six digs and Natalie Thomsen three kills. Mikayla Wood (E) 19 assists.
