Wanda A. Weber
Wanda A. Weber, 83, of Quincy, passed away peacefully on Oct. 12, 2015, at Bonaventure in East Wenatchee.
Mom was born on Sept. 13, 1932, in Ava, Mo., to Richard G. and Verna E. Hancock. Mom graduated from Marsing High School in 1950. After graduation, she moved to Soap Lake to live with her sister and brother-in-law. It was there that she met her husband, Bob Weber. Mom and Dad were married in Quincy on Aug. 10, 1952. Dad was a farmer and Mom was a homemaker, chauffeur and anything else she needed to be. They were blessed with four kids: Terri, Robin, Randy and Greg.
Life was busy with us four kids and Mom was always on the run. She enjoyed bowling and bowled on two leagues for many years. She was Bowler of the Year several times. She also enjoyed having coffee in the afternoon with her friends. She rarely missed an afternoon and truly enjoyed her time with her friends. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Quincy Bowling Association and Women of the Moose.
Mom was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; sons Randy and Greg; grandson Seth; her parents; two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by daughters, Terri (Merle) Wilson and Robin (John) Birks; grandsons Cody (Stefanie) Wilson, Jeremy (Kryslinn) Weber and Cody Chapman; granddaughter Katie Weber; five great-grandchildren, Skyler, Lexi, Colton, Gunner and Caiden; and one on the way.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff of the Memory Care Unit at Bonaventure for the loving care they gave Mom. We are also grateful to nurses from Central Washington Hospice for the care and comfort given to Mom and the support they provided the family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, at the First Presbyterian Church in Quincy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Mom’s name to the Quincy Valley Historical Society & Museum.
Please leave a memory for the family or sign its online guestbook at www.scharbachs.com. Scharbach’s Columbia Funeral Chapel in Quincy is assisting the family.
