Wrestling alumni returning to mat

Grapplers from Quincy’s past will come together on Saturday for a first-ever alumni wrestling match.
“We have 18 wrestlers signed up to participate with a couple more interested,” coach Greg Martinez said. “I’m hoping we get a good crowd of wrestling family together and meet up with old friends to talk about the sport we love.”
The event begins with weigh-ins at 6:30 p.m. Alumni wrestlers will take to the mats at 7 p.m.
Alumni are paying $25 to wrestle. Spectators will pay an entry fee of $5 for adults, and $3 for students. A family pass is available for $15.
Proceeds raised will go to the Quincy High School Booster Wresting Club.
“Proceeds raised will help to purchase equipment needed to implement a new stats program next year,” Martinez said. “Any money raised above that will be used to help purchase new shorts for our wrestlers.”
