60th anniversary: Jim and Shirley Wurl

60th anniversary: Jim and Shirley Wurl

Jim and Shirley Wurl, of Wenatchee, will celebrate their 60th anniversary with a cake and coffee re-ception at Heritage Haven on Saturday, June 16, 2018, from 1 to 3 p.m. The event will be at the clubhouse at 1802 Heritage Haven Drive, just off Western Avenue, in Wenatchee. No gifts, please.
In May, they took a trip to Europe to celebrate their anniversary.
Shirleyann Elizabeth Alliss and Jimmie Lee Wurl were married on June 15, 1958, in Quincy. They were high school sweethearts at Quincy High School.
The couple have lived in Southern California, Quincy, Washington, Arizona, and they now reside in Wenatchee.
They are the parents of a daughter, Carrie Wurl Shirk and her husband, Doug, of Wenatchee, and two sons, Randy Wurl, of Kent, and Monty Wurl and his wife, Brenda, of Ephrata. Jim and Shirley have six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Shirley, while the children were young, was a stay-at-home mom, and when the kids were in school she began truck driving for farmers in the Quincy area.
Jim retired from Witco Chemical in Quincy, then both farmed for many years before finally retiring for good.
