Alberta grew up in Salida, Calif., and loved working on the ranch with her father. She attended Modesto Junior College and worked for a candy shop and the Poultry Association. She was active in leading a local 4-H group.

Alberta accepted Christ as her personal Savior as the result of a Billy Graham Crusade. She then became active in her church, showing others her love for the Lord.

After marrying her sweetheart, Ralph V. Johnson, on June 7, 1953, the couple farmed in Salida.  In 1961, Alberta moved with her family to Quincy. They raised four children and continued to be active in their church.

Alberta enjoyed raising her family, helping with the family farm and working in her garden. She was very active in church through the years as a Sunday school teacher, librarian, Youth Group leader and Women’s Missionary Group leader. For the past 18 years, she was a devoted pastor’s wife at Quincy Baptist Church. She loved to open her home to family and friends.

Alberta is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ralph; three daughters, Ruth, Kris and Alice; a son, Ralph; two granddaughters, Donna and Elaine; and two great-grandchildren, William and Brianna.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Don, her sister Marian, son-in-law, Dennis and great grandson Titus.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2015, at the First Baptist Church, 707 J St. S.W. in Quincy.

Memorials may be made in Alberta’s name to either Assured Hospice, Quincy Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
