Boyd will not pursue Yakima schools job
Superintendent of Quincy School District John Boyd has withdrawn his name from consideration to be the next Yakima public schools chief.
Boyd was one of the three finalists for the job.
“Upon a great deal of personal and professional reflection, (wife) Annie and I decided that it is in our best interest to stay in Quincy and remain focused on the amazing work here!” Boyd wrote in a press release.
Boyd has been the superintendent in Quincy since 2014. In addition to the Yakima job, he applied for the superintendent job at Port Orchard’s South Kitsap school district. Boyd did not make it to the round of finalists for that job.
“I am extremely proud of the work and progress we are making here in Quincy and excited to continue to lead the district,” Boyd wrote.
