Boys golf team wins some, loses some in home match at Colockum Ridge

The Quincy High School boys golf team finished with a 1-1 split in a three-team match against Ephrata and Toppenish on April 11.
The Jacks (395 points) lost to Ephrata (341 points) and finished ahead of Toppenish (462 points.)
Leading the Jacks was Nate Gonzalez, who shot a 76, best in the day, including a 37 on the back nine. Gavin Sahli shot a 99, Trytan Ortiz shot a 113 and Connor Morgan shot a 107.
For Ephrata, Jayce Moore and Buster Davidson both shot an 80, followed by Jacob Rawley with an 83 and Luke Jones with a 98.
For Toppenish, Jesus Jimenez shot a 111, followed by Osmar Alvarez with a 113. Jaxon Smith shot a 114 and Orfil De La Cruz shot a 124.
Among JV boys, Ephrata’s Matt Jones shot a 99 and Chris Ahmann shot a 106 over 18 holes.
The Quincy JV boys played nine holes, with Vijay Singh shooting a 68 and Ehtan Royer shooting a 69.
Next up for the boys is a trip to Brewster’s Gamble Sands, where Chelan plays its home matches, April 17 at 11 a.m., and a trip to Prosser the next day to play the Mustangs and the Red Devils from East Valley-Yakima.
Then, on April 22, they travel to Othello to play the hosts and Ellensburg.
Next up for the girls is a trip to Toppenish on April 16. Results weren’t available prior to press time.
Then, it’s their turn to hit Gamble Sands in Okanogan County on April 18 to play the Lady Goats, before returning home on April 23, to host Wapato and Othello at Colockum Ridge.
