Businesses seek to help everyone have a happy Thanksgiving day
Quincy Market will once again set a special price on its Thanksgiving Dinner Packages, in order to let as many people as possible have a plentiful table for the holiday.
The supermarket will offer a $19.99 Thanksgiving special package, which will include an 8-10 lb. turkey, a bag of Russet potatoes, two cans of veggies, a box of stuffing mix, gravy mix, cranberry sauce, olives and a pumpkin pie.
“We just do it to give people something affordable for Thanksgiving,” said the market’s manager Abel Chavez. “Hopefully, they get their meal (here) and buy their pop or something else like that.”
There’s no limit of packages per customer, with the promotion running throughout November and through Christmas, Chavez said, adding that the packages could be purchased with money or food stamps.
In addition, The Grainery Cafe will once again offer a free lunch on Thanksgiving Day. The free meal is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. People can also call ahead for a to-go meal for someone who is house-bound.
