Senior project raising money for firefighters
Three Quincy High School seniors are organizing a firefighter appreciation dinner to honor the firefighters who battled the wildfires this summer in Central Washington.
The dinner is Nov. 14 at Quincy High School. All area firefighters are invited to attend. The proceeds from the dinner will be donated to Okanogan Fire District No. 7, which is in the small community of Riverside.
The seniors are gathering donations from local businesses for the event. For more information, contact Rosalina Santiago at 237-3031.

‘Fun on 42nd Street’
Quincy Valley Allied Arts invites people to come see 44 local kids in a fun, fast-paced play-within-a-play.
In “Fun on 42nd Street,” the audience joins actors backstage at a 1930s off-Broadway production with a temperamental diva, a director at the end of his rope and a cast of girls, gangsters, seamstresses and even some clowns.
Shows are 7 p.m. on Nov. 6 and 2 p.m. on Nov. 7. Performances are at the high school performing arts center. Cost is $5 a seat.

Seniors: Turn back clocks this weekend
The Quincy Senior Center reminds people that this weekend Daylight Savings Time Ends. Clocks should be turned back an hour before you go to bed on Saturday.
On the menu for the Thursday dinner are tacos, Spanish rice, fruit salad and brownies. Dinner starts at 6 p.m. and costs $6.
