Leonora Santos De La Rosa-Cruz
Leonora Santos De La Rosa-Cruz, fondly called Nona, went to her heavenly rest on Saturday, July 11, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. One of her favorite quotes was: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son to us, so whoever believes in Him shall live forever.”
Nona was born in Moses Lake to proud parents, Anita and Marcelino De La Rosa Jr. She married Homero Cruz on May 28, 2011. Throughout her life, Nona traveled and lived in many places, including Mexico, to be near her daughter, as well as living in Washington and California. She is survived by her loving husband, Homero Cruz; daughter Andrea (Gerardo) Garcia; granddaughter Emily; grandsons Kevin and Cuauhtemoc; her father and stepmother, Marcelino and Angela De La Rosa Jr.; sisters, Ruby De La Rosa, Irma (Eduardo) Villerreal and Angelica Jimenez; brothers Angelo (Rebecca) De La Rosa and Aurelio Jimenez; stepbrothers Carlos and Blas Magana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nona was preceded in death by her mother, Anita; her brother, Marcelino III; her maternal grandparents, Manuel and Santos Moreno Sr.; and her paternal grandparents, Marcelino and Margarita De La Rosa Sr.
The Blessing Service was held on Friday, July 17, 2015, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Quincy. Memorial services were held on Saturday, July 18, 2015, with her uncle, Pastor Joe De La Rosa officiating.
