Letter to the editor: Hammond understands health care access issue

Hammond understands health care access issue
Sylvia Hammond is a strong candidate for State Representative in the 13th Legislative District, Position 2. She is working hard to earn your vote. Sylvia has integrity, a strong work ethic and she listens to our concerns. Sylvia understands the demands of a family farm as she and her husband raised a family on their farm, she understands rural concerns, and she studies the issues.
Sylvia is concerned about health care in our rural region. On her website she clearly shows our counties have fewer doctors or physician assistants per resident than the state average.
Kittitas County – 1051
Grant County – 1145
Lincoln County – 1321
Yakima County – 1016
Statewide the average is 476 people per doctor or physician assistant.
Apparently this issue has not been on the radar of our current representatives. Sylvia knows this affects access to health care in our communities.
Sylvia will address issues that affect each and everyone one of us whether we are starting a family, take care of elder parents, or work hard to make ends meet in our day-to-day lives. She wants your voice heard in Olympia.
I urge you to vote for Sylvia Hammond.
Hanna Fredeen,
Ellensburg
