Letter to the editor: Thank you for supporting the barn

Thank you for supporting the barn
The Board of Directors of the Quincy Valley Historical Society & Museum (QVHSM) want to thank the many people, organizations, businesses, and the City of Quincy for their very generous donations to complete the Historical Barn! In mid-2018 we put a sign up in front of the museum showing our goal of $100,000 to finish paying for the Barn. We were hoping to have the Barn completely funded in several years, but instead our supporters funded it in several months! We are happy to report that the Barn is fully funded and the project is debt-free.
We feel totally blessed by your generosity and want to make the QVHSM a source of learning, activities, and events to educate and entertain our community. We want visitors to understand our past and how we have arrived at where we are today. We also want to provide modern, up-to-date technology to stimulate the interest of all ages, now and in the future.
We will have our Open House on March 30, 2019, at 1:30, at the Historical Barn. Please plan to attend and help us celebrate this beautiful building and see our brand-new exhibit, “Hope and Hard Work. The Story of Our Farms and Food.” We are really excited about the future of the Historical Site, and we hope you will be too.
See you March 30th!
Ed Field,
President, QVHSM
