Looking Back, Oct. 6, 1977: Greater Quincy to haunt bank
Greater Quincy, Inc., will have a house to haunt during Halloween after all. Bill Carpenter, who stepped down as GQ president because he is being transferred to Seattle, said he had obtained permission to use the former Rainier Bank building for the haunted house project.
High school students and Greater Quincy members will work on creating special effects in the building and act as ghosts and monsters. It will open for a week up to and including Halloween night. Pat Yates will be chairman of the project.
