Meeting set for new state
The Chelan, Douglas and Grant County chapters of the Liberty state movement are hosting the North Central Liberty State Rally on Saturday, May 11, 2-4 p.m., at the BPOE Grand Ballroom in Wenatchee.
The event, the movement’s first multi-county rally, is meant to introduce the region to the growing Liberty state effort. A constitutionally-defined process, the creation of a new state has been done numerous times in the history of the nation, and has been suggested here in Washington since statehood. This past year, though, has seen the greatest community-level response ever, according to a press release.
Dani Bolyard is the captain of Grant County’s chapter of Liberty state and tells anyone who says it’ll never happen to look around – it’s already happening, according to a press release. This movement is about returning the voices of Eastern Washington to the conversation, politically, economically and socially.
The BPOE Grand Ballroom, at 27 Chelan St., Wenatchee, is not ADA-compliant, but every effort will be made to assist all guests in accessing the event. Parking is available behind the Wenatchee Library.
