Van Diest fires 87; Bassett 93

The Quincy boys golf team hosted two matches last week.
On Wednesday, the medalist honors went to Omak’s Cameron Daigneau with a 8-over par 79.  The Pioneers also won the match 341-372.
The Jacks were led by Kyle Feigal, who carded an 89 and Trajan Trevino who fired a 92.  Others: Blake VanDiest 94, Dawson VanDiest 97, Brendan VanDiest 97, Jay Gates 104.
On Thursday, the rounds got lower with Ephrata in town.  The Tigers were led by Aaron Whalen, who shot a 1-under par 70.  As a team, Ephrata beat Quincy 301-359.
Quincy was led by Blake VanDiest with an 87.  Others: Feigal 91, Trevino 88, D. VanDiest 95, B. VanDiest 93 and Gates 113.
The girls golf team also played against Omak; unfortunately the Lady Pioneers only had one JV player.  For Quincy, Shelby Bassett shot a 93, while Marlo Omlin had a 97 and Chloe Ovenell had a 105.
On Monday, the girls traveled to Lakeview to play Ephrata and Othello.  The medalist honors went to Ephrata’s Kenedee Peters. The freshman fired a 75.
Quincy was led by Bassett with a 99, while Omlin shot a 110 and Ovenell had a 119.
