Wenatchee gallery features Quincy artist

WENATCHEE — For the month of January, Quincy artist Cheikh Diouf will be the featured artist at the Two Rivers Art Gallery in Wenatchee.
The art exhibit, called “Expressions in Color” showcases Diouf’s abstract expressions. Originally from the Dakar, Senegal in West Africa, the painter is known for his rich textures and colors.
The public is invited to meet Diouf at a kick-off event on Jan. 1 at the Wenatchee gallery. The event, held in conjunction with the downtown’s First Friday celebration, is 5 to 8 p.m.
The art gallery is at 102 N. Columbia Ave. in downtown Wenatchee.
At the Jan. 1 event, wines will be provided by Errant Cellars of Quincy.
Diouf most recently was among the winners of the NCW Juried Art Show at the Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center. Two judges evaluated about 220 entries and awarded only eight honors:
Diouf received an honorable mention for his painting “Eyetrospect.” The art show will be on display at the museum through Feb. 6.
Museum visitors are invited to vote by Feb. 6 for their favorite pieces for the People’s Choice Award, which carries a cash prize.
